“My boyfriend and I just wrapped up a magical stay at this hidden gem. If you love unique experiences and beautiful things, then look no further. The cottage is a dreamy, efficient loft space, well-appointed with gorgeous J Schatz pieces (including the "Brutal" coffee set ::swoon::). It's like living in an art gallery. Check-in was a breeze (code to lockbox received day of arrival), parking for one car located just outside the door. Essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bottled water, coffee) included. Jim & Peter are amazing, friendly hosts who take great pride in their space, and are happy to offer suggestions for restaurants, outings, and things to do. I can't wait to come back to Boothbay Harbor and stay here again! Summary: happy, peaceful, artsy vibe. One-of-a-kind space. Spotless. Easy parking. Perfect, gracious hosts. My dream come true!”

“As one would expect from professional designers, Jim & Peter have created for their guests a space beautiful, hip and comfortable. Comfortable bed, great shower, good lighting, very thoughtful amenities (freshly ground coffee, bottled water, etc.) Peter & Jim were attentive, thoughtful and readily available on our whole stay. They took time to help us get settled in the room and checked with us every time we happened to see them. We got a personal tour of their studio and enjoyed using their products--custom lamps, coffee mugs, coffee maker--in our cottage. We had a great visit to Boothbay Harbor and Jim & Peter's cottage and hospitality played a large part in the success of our trip.”

We really love the use of art and products that are created in the studio next door that are used in the room such as the plates and Brutal Coffeemaker! We felt very welcome and comfortable during our entire stay and would 100% stay again if we needed to stay in Boothbay Harbor!”

“I think this is my favorite stay ever! The setting is unique and beautiful. The high ceilings, the beautifully appointed bathroom, the high windows that let in light while offering privacy, the coffee pot and cups made in Jim and Peter's next door ceramics studio, and the ceramics studio itself all created a very modern look in a stunningly refurbished barn. Peter and Jim's communication was just right, from coordinating schedules, meeting us to show us around, and checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed, without being the least bit intrusive. I can't say enough good things about the setting and our stay at Jim and Peter's. It was fabulous, and we hope to stay with them again the next time we are in Boothbay Harbor!”

“WOW! this sanctuary of a property is a hidden gem and super convenient location. I stayed here for a 4 day convention. I found this listing with beautiful photos and most complete and meticulous of instructions, I was impressed and took the chance. When I arrived Peter was just leaving but he took time to show me the cottage which was exactly as how the photos show: exquisite, minimalist and chic decor, giant windows that bathe in light the beautiful handmade creations of the most brilliant warmest of hosts Peter and Jim. I cant say enough of how happy I was to stay here. For places to go forget Yelp, follow Jim and Peter's comprehensive list (a printed copy is inside the room). This beautiful town is now one of my favorite places in the world. Thank you Peter and Jim, can't wait to be back!”

“We’ve been traveling to Boothbay Harbor from CA for 4 years and grew tired of staying at conventional hotels, so started looking for a more unique experience. We stumbled upon this amazing find! We could not believe there was something this cool in the location we were familiar with! We always wanted to stay in a modern cottage! This beautifully renovated cottage and the excellent taste and high design style of the hosts was beyond our expectations! The room feels vast with its 20 ft ceilings and the decor is fresh, modern and lovingly embellished with J Schatz’s beautifully crafted ceramic home goods from the incredible lamps to the dishes and even the cabinet hardware. The bed was also very comfortable and their handcrafted nightlight is sure to provide you with a fun surprise! The hosts also put a lot of time and energy into making sure you have very clear details on everything you need to know, along with an incredible list of restaurants and they make supply you with high quality coffee, teas and toiletries. You can meet Peter and Jim in their studio where you will be inspired by their incredible collection of ceramic goods, their love for design & life, and their warm and inviting personalities. We found everything to be simply irresistible!”
