"Heaven. Here on earth. Clean, pristine, gorgeous. Dynamic changes in the tides make the landscape change as you're there. Get there early for parking on hot/busy days, and go at lowish tide to walk across the sand bar to the little island. Restrooms and changing areas are available and well kept."

Islands
Spectacle Island Preserve
Spectacle Island, located in the Sheepscot River, is comprised of two small islets connected at low tide by a rocky beach, and is thus named for its resemblance to a pair of reading glasses. The northern end of Spectacle is owned by Boothbay Region Land Trust and the southern end by Midcoast Conservancy. The small island provides a great stopping spot to explore tide pools and is popular with picnickers.

Indiantown Island Preserve
Indiantown Island is a 60-acre island that lies at the northern end of Ebenecook Harbor in the Sheepscot River, not far from Boothbay Harbor. BRLT owns and manages trails on the northern half of the island which are accessible by boat. Visitors can enjoy a 0.9 mile loop trail on the northern half, as well as an in-and out trail on the privately owned southern portion of the island. "Superb nature trail, unreal forest. Boat access only, but the dock on the northwest tip is easy to use."

Damariscove Island
Damariscove Island is a 210-acre historic island six miles out to sea from Boothbay Harbor in open ocean and is accessible to boaters. It offers an excellent, tiny protected harbor with two BRLT courtesy moorings available to the public for up to 24-hours. Tie-ups are not permitted on the stone pier, but two courtesy dinghies are available for boaters to use in the harbor. "If you have the opportunity spend a few hours and walk the trails ....gorgeous"
